Configuring
Outlook Express for
Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP

1.
Start Outlook Express as normal.

2. Click the “Tools” menu, then the “Accounts” option.

3. When the “Internet Accounts” dialog box appears click
the “Mail” tab, click the “Add” button followed by the “Mail.” option.

4. Enter your name as your would like it to appear on your out-going
emails and click on the “Next” button.

4. Enter your email address and click on the “Next” button.

5. Enter the “Incoming mail” and “Outgoing mail” servers as shown
and click the “Next” button.

6. Enter the username and password you have been given to access
your email account.  Ensure the “Log on using Secure Password Authentication”
box is unticked and click on the “Next” button.

7. When the “Congratulations” screen appears, click the “Finish”
button.

8. The account you have just created should now be highlighted in
the “Internet Accounts” dialog box.  If not, select it by clicking
on the account name once with the left-mouse button.  Click the
“Set as Default” button and then click the “Properties” button.

9. Once the “Properties” window appears, click the “Servers” tab
at the top of the box.  Tick the “My server requires authentication”
box and then click the “Settings” button

10. In the “Outgoing Mail Server” box that appears, ensure “Use
same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected and click
on Ok.

Click the “Ok” button in the “Properties” dialog box, and
then click “Close” in the “Internet Accounts” dialog box.

Your new Internet Email account should now be setup correctly
and is now ready to use.
